Bruce M. Bookheimer
Bruce M. Bookheimer, 65, Hustontown, died Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Harrisburg General Hospital.
Born in Bedford, October 9, 1943, he was the son of the late George I. and Bertha A. (Chilcoate) Bookheimer. He was the husband of Mary Mae (Strait) Bookheimer, whom he married November 5, 1961.
He was a retired welder from Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, after working there for 40 years.
He attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, and was a member of Greencastle Sportsmen's Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dedra R. Shore, Shade Gap; a son, Bruce R. Bookheimer, Hustontown; sisters: Sharon DeLa Cruz, California; Florence Bookheimer, Virginia; Darlene Ankrom, Virginia; Linda Mellott, Needmore; brothers: Claude L., Hustontown; Marvin "Bob" Bookheimer, McConnellsburg; and Donald Bookheimer, Hustontown; granddaughters: Tiffany and Amber Bookheimer and grandson, Matthew Bookheimer.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles R., and a granddaughter, Angel Bookheimer.
He loved to be outdoors fishing, hunting, racing, going to auctions and collecting Hot Wheels. His family will always remember him as a loving and caring father and grandfather.
Funeral services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 26. Rev. Donald Bard and Pastor Christian Elliott officiated. Burial was made in Hustontown Cemetery.
