Sympathy goes out to the family of Betty Miller Kuhn of Chambersburg, who passed away last Wednesday, and to Anna Harvey whose great-grandson was killed in an automobile accident last Friday morning.

The twin daughters of Dave Kuhn, who are in the U.S. Army, Jennifer stationed in Germany and Julie in Fort Lewis, Wash., were here to attend their grandmother Betty Kuhn's funeral and visit with their father.

Ruth Reeder recently spent 10 days in Italy. Her tour included the art treasures of Vienna, Rome and Florence and she also toured the Vatican museum. The tour was hosted by Eric Wible, a former county resident and his wife, Sue.

Dora Lynch and son Terry attended the NASCAR races in Phoenix, Ariz., recently.

Joyce Moody celebrated her third birthday with a party at parents Danny and Tammy Moody home on Patterson Run Road on Saturday.

Birthday wishes to Esther Miller and Cara Bishop, November 26; Clair Traxler and Linda Covert, November 29; Carl Knable and John Duffey, December 3; Lynette Helman, December 4; and Dolly Miller and Martha Sheffield, December 5.

Public Opinion all -star field hockey girls from the county were Megan Keller, first team, Forbes Road; Cortnee Henry, second team, Forbes Road; and Kelsey Lilley and Elissa Colledge, honorable mention from Forbes Road.

The volleyball all-stars were first team: A'leese Dickerson, McConnellsburg; Brittany Ott and Michelle Baker, McConnellsburg; Natasha Bard, Southern Fulton, second team; Megan Eichelberger, Mc- Connellsburg and honorable mention went to Southern Fulton player Jeni Hager.

First-year coach Heidi Johnston, for McConnellsburg was named volleyball coach of the year.

Calvin Tritle is at home after having surgery in Chambersburg Hospital. Get well wishes go out to Calvin.

Lois Strait fell at home last Wednesday, breaking her arm. She had just recovered from breaking her toe a short time ago.

Greg, Scott and Todd Souders and Gary Dehart attended the Penn State-Michigan State football game at Penn State on Saturday.

The senior center in Warfordsburg held its Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday and their social dinner on Friday night.

Lindsay Lininger, a senior at Mansfield College, is home visiting her parents for the Thanksgiving holiday. She plans to be a social worker.

A 90th surprise birthday party was held on Saturday, November 22, for Mary McKee in Pleasant Grove Fellowship Hall. Mary's birthday is November 29. The party was given by her family.

It happened this week: On November 22, 1963, President John Kennedy was assassinated in Texas during a motorcade ride. President Johnson proclaimed November 25 a day of mourning following the assassination.
