Library Corner

New fiction at Fulton County Library includes "Silver Bells" by Fern Michaels (large print), "Salvation in Death" by J.D. Robb (large print), "Bodies Left Behind" by Jeffrey Deaver, "Just After Sunset" by Stephen King, "Cross Country" by James Patterson, "A Mercy" by Toni Morrison, "Dashing Through the Snow" by Mary Higgins and Carol Higgins Clark, and "Whiskey Rebels" by David Liss.

New nonfiction includes "Outliers" by Malcom Gladwell, "Mother Warroirs: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds" by Jenny McCarthy, "Somebody: The Reckless Life and Remarkable Career of Marlon Brando" by Stefan Kanfer, "The World According to Bertie" by Alexander McCall-Smith, and "Roads to Quoz: An American Mosey" by William Least-Heat Moon.

New books at Hustontown Branch Library include "Every Now and Then" by Karen Kingsbury, "Rachael Ray's Big Orange Book: The Ultimate Collection of All-New 30-Minute Meals, Vegetarian Meals, Meals for One, Kosher Meals, Holiday Menus, and Much More!" by Rachael Ray, "Cross Country" by James Patterson, "Extreme Measures" by Vince Flynn, and "A Very Marley Christmas" by John Grogan.

A book and bake sale will be held Friday and Saturday, December 12- 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church on 220 North Third Street in McConnellsburg. All proceeds will be matched by the Modern Woodmen of America and will be used to help purchase computer equipment for the Hustontown Branch Library via the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation matching grant. Christmas cookies and candy made by the library's expert bakers will be available. Help the library reach its goal of raising $5,000.

Everyone will now be able to place holds on books through the library's online catalog. All you need is a library card and a personal identification number (PIN).
