Thanksgiving Service A Thanksgiving hymn sing will be hosted by the Knobsville Church of the Brethren on Sunday evening, November 23, at 7:00 p.m. The message will be brought by Pastor Duane Williams from Mt. Tabor Church of the Nazarene. An offering will be lifted to benefit Buddy's Food Basket. More information may be obtained by contacting Pastor Elliott at 717- 987-3935.

Re-Creation On Sunday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m., the singing group "Re- Creation" from Port Trevortion, Pa., will present "An Evening of Christmas," at Cito United Methodist Church. This is a program that the whole family will enjoy featuring all the favorite secular and sacred Christmas music in a glow of Christmas pageantry. Re-Creation USA Inc., is a nonprofit corporation that provides entertainment to Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in the United States. The church is located at 3746 Cito Road, McConnellsburg. All are invited to attend.

Christmas Hymn Sing The United Methodist churches of the Harrisonville, Sideling Hill, Charlestown and McConnellsburg area cordially invite the community to a Christmas hymn sing on Wednesday, December 10, at 7 p.m., at the Fulton Theatre in McConnellsburg. Ruth Reeder will be accompanying as participants request their favorite Christmas carols and beloved hymns. In addition to sing-a-longs, persons are invited to share solos, duets or special numbers. Area choirs are also invited to come and participate. If you are interested in presenting some special music, please call 485-4815 to be placed on the schedule. Following the time of music, Christmas cookies will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

Hanging Of The Greens On Sunday, November 30, at 11:00 a.m., the churches of Bethany Parish, Upper Tuscarora and Shade Gap will gather for a worship message of Thanksgiving and Advent with holy communion. Rev. Karen P. Willis, parish minister, will deliver the message. A congregation of four counties, Franklin, Huntingdon, Juniata and Perry, have worshipped first in a log church, later a framed building and the present brick church dedicated in 1858 for more than 240 years. Advent greens gathered from the four counties will be placed during the worship service by representatives of the four counties. Everyone is invited to attend.

Thanksgiving Eve Service A Thanksgiving eve service will be held at 7:00 p.m. November 26, at Fairview United Methodist Church. The church is located four miles north of Hustontown on North Hess Road. All are welcome.

Greetings With Lovenotes Larry Ahiborn will be appearing at Dublin Mills Community Church Sunday, November 30, at 7:00 p.m. This piano player uses songs as old as yesterday and yet as modern as tomorrow to meet the needs in the congregation. Musical Program to Be Presented in Memory of Steve Hoover Choirs from the Cito and McConnellsburg United Methodist churches will be presenting a special musical celebration entitled "Beyond Ordinary" on Saturday, December 20, at 7 p.m. at the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church and on Sunday, December 21, at 9:15 a.m. at the Cito United Methodist Church. The musical selections highlight the miracle of Christ's coming and extraordinary life found through Jesus Christ. Songs vary in style. The program is under the direction of Karen Godissart. Narration was written by Pastor John Godissart and will be delivered by Tom Howells. Saturday evening's program will be presented in memory of Steve Hoover. Steve had hoped to sing with the choir for this musical presentation. A freewill offering will be received on Saturday evening to help Steve's wife, Linda, offset funeral expenses. Sunday morning's presentation will be part of Cito United Methodist Church's worship gathering. Both programs are open to the public.

Christmas Eve Petting Zoo and Worship Encounter McConnellsburg United Methodist Church will be hosting an interactive children's worship experience entitled "Journey to Bethlehem" at 5:30 p.m. on December 24. The church is located across the street from the Fulton County Courthouse. The worship experience is designed for children ages 12 and under. Parents are invited to join their kids on the journey. The event begins with a petting zoo outside in the churchyard. Children will then proceed to a live nativity in a shed behind the church. Following the live nativity, children will head to the church basement for a time of crafts and snacks. The encounter will conclude in the church sanctuary with a time of singing and storytelling. Christmas Eve Candlelight Services McConnellsburg United Methodist Church will hold its Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24. The service will feature special music, proclamation of the gospel and the celebration of Holy Communion. Cito United Methodist Church will hold its Christmas Eve candlelight service at 9:00 p.m. The service will also include special music, a message of hope and holy communion. The public is cordially invited to come and join in the worship gatherings as we share the reason for the season.
