Erin Chafardon, a McConnellsburg High School graduate who now plays as a freshman on the Penn State Altoona women's soccer team, helped her team capture the 2008 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship, along with an automatic bid to the NCAA Division 3 soccer tournament next week.

They won the game after double overtime and a penalty kick shootout. It is the first time in school's history the girls team finished with an undefeated season 18- 0-1. It is also the first conference title at Altoona for women's soccer.
