Jane and Paul MacDonald and family attended the interment of Jane's brother-in-law, Francis T. Moran, 88, of Port Orange, Fla., on November 4. The ceremony, with full military honors, was at Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Moran, a combat naval photographer, served in the Pacific in World War II and had lived in Florida for many years. He and his wife, Betty, formerly lived in Crystal Spring.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Gladys Kendall and Loren Chaney, who passed away last week, and to the family of George Bishop, who passed away on Friday night from a battle with acute leukemia.

Dr. Billy Graham, the Great Evangelist, was 90 years old on his birthday, November 7.

The Shooting Stars of Needmore held their 13th banquet on Saturday, November 8, at McConnellsburg Firehall.

A surprise 47th birthday party was held on Saturday evening for Bill Smith in the home of his mother, Beverly Smith, who along with Bill's wife, Judy, gave the party. Bill's former classmates and families enjoyed a cookout and a lot of reminiscing from high school days.

Tobias McGarvey, son of Toby and Dena McGarvey, was baptized on Sunday in the Cito Methodist Church.

Jean Mellott's two nieces from Waynesboro and Ohio visited with her on Saturday and had lunch and toured the countryside.

Visiting for a week with Geraldine Cornelius and daughter Elsie of Cowans Gap is Geraldine's daughter Dorothy of Atlanta, Ga. Belated birthday wishes to Geraldine on her 91st birthday and her granddaughter Dena, whose birthday was November 6.

Visiting recently with H.P. and Jean Kies were their daughters, Jennifer of Florida and Cindy of Centre Hall, and granddaughter Tammy of Martinsburg. A family get-together was held to celebrate Sandy Kies' birthday on November 3.

Congratulations to the Spartans who were named to the Sideling Hill All-Star teams. Named to the girls soccer team were first team - Casey Pollock and J.J. Deshong; Jenny Buterbaugh and Rachael Porterfield were honorable mention. Named to the girls volleyball team were A'leese Dickerson, Michelle Baker, first team; Natasha Bard, Southern Fulton, honorable mention. The boys soccer team members were first team - Jarred Appleby and Ethan Cunningham; honorable mention went to Matt Kendall, Forbes Road players Alex Bookheimer and Brandon Mellott.

Pat and Glenda Shafer, Terry and Kim Sheeder, Andy Ritchey, Dena Everhart, and Paul and Lisa Johnston spent last week vacationing in Cancun.

Rodney Wible had heart bypass surgery last Tuesday in Hershey Hospital and hopes to be home soon.

Anniversary wishes to Walter and Beth Barmont who were married 16 years on November 6.

John Buterbaugh of Cito Road celebrated his 83rd birthday with his wife and children and families on Saturday.

Charles Reeder of town will turn 90 years old on November 13.
