Fannett-Metal 3, Southern Fulton 2

After dropping the opening two games, Southern Fulton fought back in games three and four to tie last Thursday's match at two games each. However, game five found the Fannett-Metal Tigers prevailing for the Sideling Hill League win. Ashley Wigfield had an outstanding evening of play with 13 digs, nine kills, three blocks and seven service points. Teammate Natasha Bard added 13 kills and eight service points, and Cierra Covalt dished out 27 assists. Jeni Hager rounded out the match with 16 digs.

McConnellsburg 3, Everett 0

McConnellsburg finished its regular season play with guns ablazing when it took to the court against the Everett Warriors. In winning the Sideling Hill League match 3-0, Michelle Eichelberger rallied for seven kills and digs, and A'Leese Dickerson added 12 digs and four aces. Brittany Ott finished with 22 assists and 10 digs, while Lisa DeShong had nine digs.

McConnellsburg 3, Chestnut Ridge 1

The McConnellsburg Lady Spartans tied for first place in the Sideling Hill League last Tuesday with a 3-1 victory over the Chestnut Ridge Lions. The win also allowed the Spartans to claim the top seed in the upcoming District 5-A tourney. A'Leese Dickerson had a whopping 20 kills, 10 aces and six blocks, while Brittany Ott managed 39 assists. Megan Eichelberger contributed 21 digs, and Michelle Baker added 15 digs and eight kills. Lisa DeShong tallied 17 digs.

Hyndman 3, Southern Fulton 1

Southern Fulton jumped out to a win in game one but fell short in the following three games to lose to the Hyndman Hornets by the final score of 3-1. Natasha Bard, Natalie Keebaugh and Alexis Knisely each tallied four kills. In the meantime, Cierra Covert had 10 assists during the Sideling Hill League match, and Jeni Hager and Ashley Wigfield each added eight digs.

McConnellsburg 3, Hyndman 0

Top-seeded McConnellsburg Lady Spartans advanced to the semifinal round of District 5-A playoffs Monday evening with a 3-0 victory over the Hyndman Hornets. A'Leese Dickerson totalled 15 kills and seven blocks, while Megan Eichelberger added 12 digs and four aces. Teammate Brittany Ott posted 28 assists and 12 digs. Lisa DeShong and Michelle Baker had 13 and 12 digs respectively.
