Julia L. (DeShong) Chesnut, 89, McConnellsburg, died Sunday, October 26, 2008, at Fulton County Medical Center.
She was born in Three Springs, December 24, 1918, the daughter of the late Harry A. and Olive M. (Fix) DeShong. She was the widow of Don Chesnut, who passed away December 26, 1973.
She attended Seventh Day Adventist Church in Needmore, was a matron at Fulton County Jail from 1948 to 1956 and was a retired LPN from Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, after working there for 32 years.
She is survived by a son, Jim (husband of Gayle) Chesnut, Mc- Connellsburg; brothers: Jack, Max and James Nelson DeShong, all of McConnellsburg; a sister, Betty Christian, McConnellsburg; two grandchildren: James M. Chesnut and Michele F. Hann; and six greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Don E. Chesnut; an infant sister; a brother, William P. DeShong; and a grandchild.
Funeral services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 29. Greg Rockwell officiated. Burial was private and at the convenience of the family.
