The Council for the Arts announces the opening of Miniature Art 2008 at its office and gallery space at 159 South Main Street, Chambersburg. The exhibit, sponsored by Gypsie, will open November 6 and continue through January 10, and features 186 works by artists from 24 states. An opening reception will be held at 159 South Main St. on Thursday, November 6, from 4 to 7 p.m.

"Our judge selected 186 out of the 369 entries that we received this year," explained Gallery Director Anne Finucane. "Eva Keller Carson, our judge, had a difficult time choosing among the excellent works submitted, but the result is an outstanding show."

Works by McConnellsburg artist Dolores Henry were accepted into Miniature Art 2008. The Council for the Arts exhibits high-quality works of art yearround in its gallery area.

The public is welcome to view the exhibit during regular office hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday - Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays until January 10. For details on holiday hours and more information about the exhibit, please call the Council at 717-264-6883.
