FCCCS To Hold Auction
A handcrafted cedar chest with a hand-painted farm scene donated by Donald Snyder of Snyder's Woodworking, Needmore, will be among the numerous items to go up for bid at the Fulton County Community Christian School's benefit dinner auction to be held at the Hustontown Firehall on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Other items to be sold and pictured above are a bentwood hickory rocker, a signed and numbered 1986 Ducks Unlimited print titled "Twelve O'clock High," a handmade quilt by local quilter Velma Leese in the Egg Custard Pie pattern, Mr. and Mrs. 2000 Snowflake Teddies, and Home Interior Mr. and Mrs. Gingerbread dolls.
Also going up for auction will be the traditional one-of-a-kind school quilt, which always brings the anticipation of lively bidding on this much-sought-after item featuring the students and faculty for the 2007-2008 school year.
For the sportsmen, there are an all-inclusive, unlimited bird hunt donated by Creek Side Farms, Needmore sporting goods; a Meat Smoker outdoor cooker and several guns, including a 25th anniversary edition Remington Model 7MM08.
Many fine handcrafted wooden items will be found on both auctions, as well as, antiques, handmade quilts, afghans, crocheted items, jewelry, a Wagner paint sprayer, HP Photo Smart 3-1 copier, - absolutely something for everyone on your Christmas list. And, as always, a friendly bidding war is expected when those homemade pies, cakes and candies hit the auction block.
The general public is invited to come out for a delicious meal and an evening of fun and great bargains while lending support to FCCCS. The silent auction begins at 3:30 p.m. The buffet dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., and the traditional auction begins at 6:30 p.m.
Donations of items for both auctions are gratefully accepted and greatly appreciated. For additional information or to obtain dinner tickets, you may contact FCCCS at 717-573-4400 or call 717-485-3496.
