Birthday wishes to Sarah Smith, Linda Ramsey, Dean Varner, Adam Patterson, Chris Hann, Autumn Whitsel, Jim Tucker, Daryl Patterson and Tim Cromwell.

Also, birthday wishes to Ryan Armagost, Alissa Rhoades, Gary Clark, Cole Campbell, Chetty Clark, Amy Horton, Shirley Shoemaker, Cameron Edgell and Loreli Fleming.

Anniversary wishes to Lynn and Julie Knepper and Kevin and Jen Swope.

Congratulations to Rachel Barmont, daughter of W.R. and Beth Barmont and granddaughter of Dean and Betty Fleck and Nancy Barmont, on her placement at the PA State 4-H Horse Show. Rachel placed ninth during a competition held this past weekend at the Farm Show building in Harrisburg.

Mamie Streightiff and Jen Ramsey visited with Dusty and Lucy Ramsey in Franklinville, N.Y., over the weekend. The group then traveled to Buffalo, N.Y., to visit with Sarah Ramsey.

While Mamie was traveling, Tom Streightiff was busy helping to serve a turkey dinner with the folks from the 15th Street Methodist Church in Huntingdon on Saturday afternoon.

Our sympathy is extended to the family of Rick Benson, who was the victim of a fatal automobile accident near Maddensville on Friday evening.

Buzz and Bea Covert visited with Andy, Tasha, Shaine and Kean Goshorn on Saturday evening.

Walnut Grove Sr. Youth Group held its annual Fall Lock-In over the weekend at the Fellowship Building with about 20 folks in attendance. Games and lots of snacks were enjoyed by all until the loud breakfast call came Sunday morning about an hour after everyone went to bed. A scavenger hunt is being planned for the senior youths' November event.

Visiting in the home of Steve and Karen Grissinger this week were James Locke, Travis Madden, Brent Carlson, Bob Hoffman, Amanda Yocum, and Tom and Mamie Streightiff.

The Clear Ridge ladies and gents will be having a soup and pie sale on October 30, beginning at 4 p.m.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co., will sponsor shooting matches starting Saturday, November 1, at 1 p.m.
