Immanuel Bible Church held its annual hayride on Sunday afternoon. Three full wagonloads of folks enjoyed the ride and returned to the church for a bean soup and campfire meal.

Pastor Travis Mellott of Walnut Grove Church of God was honored during a brief pastor appreciation presentation on Sunday during the morning worship service. The youth groups presented him with a gift and a cake, which everyone enjoyed as they were leaving the church after services.

Roger and Pat Ramsey visited Ronnie and Nancy Horne on Sunday afternoon. >They also got to visit with Patrick and Jamie Horne, who were home from Morgantown, W.Va., for the weekend.

Gordon Locke had dinner with Roger and Pat Ramsey on Thursday evening.

Several Maddensville residents attended the Rosetta Henry estate sale in Clear Ridge on Saturday. At one time, Howard and Rosetta Henry owned property in Maddensville.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will be celebrating the Fulton Fall Folk Festival beginning on Friday evening, October 17, with a roast beef dinner and sides. On Saturday, ham, beef or chicken slippery pot-pie will be served beginning at 11 a.m. At 3 p.m., chicken BBQ by the half and side dishes will be available.

An open stage event will be held on Saturday evening beginning at 6 p.m. The kitchen will open at 5 p.m. The annual smorgasbord will be served on Sunday starting at 11 a.m. Roast beef, turkey, ham, fried chicken, meatballs, liver and onions, and several side dishes will be served. Price includes beverage and dessert. The fire company serves up some terrific food, so be sure to stop by and support their good cooking and great service.
