William P. Barnhart
William Palmer Barnhart, 91, Needmore, died Thursday, October 2, 2008, at his home.
Born May 14, 1917, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of the late Ward B. and Mamie C. Golden Barnhart.
He was a self-employed farmer. He was previously employed with a sawmill, PennDOT, the PA Game Commission, Fairchild Industries, Hagerstown and H.L. Mills, formerly in Hancock.
He was a member of Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Mary R. Bishop Barnhart; three daughters: Delores Ann Barling, Needmore; Mary Louise Cromwell and husband William George Billie, Needmore; Carol Faye Hollinshead and husband Allen, McConnellsburg; two sons: William C. Barnhart and wife Ruby, Needmore; Roger L. Barnhart, Fort Loudon; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Maynard E. Barnhart; six sisters: Faye Barnhart, Eleanor Fisher, Zelda Keefer, Erma Hetzel, Martha Hoover and an infant sister, Hazel.
Services were held Saturday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m., at Pleasant Grove Christian Church. Rev. Denver A. Plessinger officiated. Burial was mad in Warfordsburg Presbyterian Cemetery.
Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, was in charge of arrangements.
