Ex-Penn Professor's Sentencing Date Delayed
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A judge has delayed the sentencing of a former University of Pennsylvania economics professor who admitted killing his wife during an argument.
Montgomery County Judge Paul Tressler approved a defense request to postpone Monday's sentencing of 58-year-old Rafael Robb. The new sentencing date is Nov. 19.
Robb pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the Dec. 2006 bludgeoning death of his 49-year-old wife, Ellen. Robb said in court that he killed his wife with a chin-up bar.
The postponement came Friday, hours before a previously scheduled vigil in Ellen Robb's memory was held by her friends and family.
