Fall Folk Festival Vendors There is both indoor and outdoor vendor space available at the Fall Folk Festival Welcome Center at the Lions Club building, 301 East Maple Street, McConnellsburg. Fulton House Yard Sale Donations of good yard sale items are being accepted for a table beside the Fulton House log cabin on Friday and Saturday of the Fulton Fall Folk Festival. Donations will benefit the Fulton County Historical Society, which can issue tax-deductible receipts. Phone 717- 485-3172 or 814-735-3039 to drop off items or to volunteer to help with staffing.

Civil War Signatures At Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church will be open to the public Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17 and 18, from 1 p.m until 5 p.m., during the Fulton Fall Folk Festival. Visitors to Fulton County's oldest church, which was organized around 1745, can view signatures of Union troops hospitalized at Tonoloway from January 1862 through early March 1862, following Gen. Stonewall Jackson's bombardment of Hancock, Md. On Friday, Oct. 17, John Mentzer, author of the recently published book "Tonoloway - If Its Walls Could Talk," a documentation of the Civil War signatures and history of the church, will be on hand to talk about the signatures and sign books. Mentzer will give slide presentations at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tonoloway is located just north of the Mason-Dixon Line along PA Route 655 (Thompson Road) in Fulton County.
House Tour The annual house tour sponsored by Fulton County Historical Society will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday afternoons, October 18 and 19, for a donation of $10. All homes are within a 10- minute drive of McConnellsburg and will include the old cell block of the Fulton County Jail in town. Look for descriptive brochures in many local businesses and purchase tickets at the Fulton House during the festival.
FFFF Food Sale Saint Stephen Catholic Church Family Life Committee will have available chicken corn, ham and bean and vegetable soup, kielbasa sandwiches, meatball subs and hot dogs, coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate and soda on Saturday, October 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. At the same time a bake sale and flea market sale will be held.
Chili Festival The Fulton / Franklin Democratic Club will again hold its annual chili festival at Democratic headquarters, 123 South Second Street, Route 522, in McConnellsburg on Saturday, October 18, 2008. This year will be 17 kinds of chili, still only "a buck a cup" hot and mild, lamb and chicken, venison and vegetarian, bean and beanless, turkey and tofu, you name it, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., or whenever run out. There will be country cornbread, great coffee, and soft drinks. Meet Tony Barr, candidate for U.S. Congress from this district.
FFFF At Waterfall The Fulton Fall Folk Festival in Waterfall will be held Saturday, October 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Center Church will be having a bake sale and food stand at the grange hall at 10:00 a.m. A petting Zoo and children's games will be all day. Children's candy scramble will be at noon at the bank parking lot. A pet parade will be at 12:30 p.m. on the mill porch. All pets must be restrained, and prizes will be awarded. Second Time Around Shop will be having a fashion show at 1:30 p.m. on the mill porch. Anyone can paticipate, but clothing must be purchased from the Second Time Around Shop. Prizes will be awarded. Fred Querry will be entertainment at 2:00 p.m. on the mill porch. The annual raffle drawing will be held at 3:00 p.m. on the mill porch. Donations are $1.00 per ticket and all proceeds benefit the Waterfall Festival Fund. Top prize will be a Legacy Arms Howa 1500 gun 270 w/3x10x42 Nikko scope. Other prizes will be park bench, ceramic garden angel, handmade crocheted afghan, ceramic Christmas tree, proof coin set, gift certificates, etc. Tickets are on sale now at Newman's Store, Community State Bank in Waterfall, Knepper's Mill and Black's Garage. There will be the usual craft and food vendors around town for the day offering all kinds of handmade items and delicious good eats.
HAFVCO Festival Activities Fulton Fall Folk Festival activities at Hustontown Firehall will be a roast beef dinner on Friday, October 19 at 5:00 p.m.; an all-you-can-eat potpie dinner on Saturday, october 20 at 11:00 a.m.; a chicken barbecue on Saturday at 3:00 p.m .and an open stage inthe dining hall at 6:00 p.m.; Sunday, October 21 will be an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord.
Soup/Scones Sale Homemade beef barley soup and scones will be served from the Fulton House log kitchen from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18. The Country Cousins will provide free music at noon Friday. Donations of pies, cookies, sandwiches, sodas, etc may be dropped off Friday morning. Proceeds will benefit the Fulton County Historical Society.
Food Sale Warfordsburg Senior Center will be selling hot dogs, steamers, ham sandwiches, bowls of vegetable soup and bean soup, along with baked goods, chips and sodas on November 4, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Come, vote and have a bite to eat. Carryout also. More information may be obtained by calling 294-6020.
Turkey Dinner A turkey dinner will be served at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street, McConnellsburg, Friday, October 17, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in conjunction with the Fulton Fall Folk Festival. Adults are $8; children 4-12, $4; and under 3 free. Take-outs will also be available.
Cito Breakfast Buffet Cito United Methodist Church will be serving a breakfast buffet on Saturday, October 18, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the church fellowship hall located at 3746 Cito Road, McConnellsburg. The buffet style breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, chipped beef gravy, toast, orange juice and coffee. Cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children 6-12 and ages 5 and under free.
FFFF Fashion Show A fashion show will be held October 18, at 1:30 p.m. on the Knepper Mill porch in Waterfall. Only requirement: outfit must come from Second Time Around Thrift Shop in Waterfall. Any age or gender can participate. Second Time is open Tuesday and Thursday, from noon until 3:00 p.m. and Saturday from noon until 2:00 p.m. It will be fun and all will be recognized. There will be no charge for outfit and yours to keep, but must tell the salesperson what you will be doing with it.
