Photo Contest Fulton County Parks and Recreation Commission is accepting photo entries through November 14 with the winning photo to be used in a community art room mural located in the basement meeting room of the Lions Club Community Building. Photos must depict a local location, event or even the people of Fulton County. Only adults and children residing in county are eligible to participate. Cash prizes given. Pumpkin/Gourd Sale Saint Stephen Family Life Committee has pumpkins for sale: medium, $4 and large $6; and also gourds - three small for a $1 and two large for $1.

Raffle Postponed Needmore Volunteer Ambulance Service has postponed the raffle for the children's 4-wheeler. Tickets will continue to be sold until February 15 at which time the raffle and another bingo bonanza will be held.

Clothing Room Changed The clothing room at Saint Stephen Catholic Church scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, has been changed to Tuesday, October 28. More information may be obtained by calling 485-5917.

Democratic Headquarters Open Democratic Headquarters in Mc- Connellsburg at 123 South Second Street will be open Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Fridays, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and Sundays, noon to 2:00 p.m. throughout the current political campaign season. These hours will be extended as the elections of November 4 draw near. The American flag will be flying during the open hours. More information may be obtained by calling 717-485-3386.

MES Musical Booster Club McConnellsburg Elementary Musical would like to start a booster club for friends to the musical and parents of the children involved in the elementary musical. Anyone interested in being a part of this start-up booster club can come to a meeting Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., at the high school auditorium during an entire cast rehearsal.

Corn Plot Day Corn Plot Day is being held October15, 2008 beginning at 10:00 at Russell McLucas's Farm field along Narrows Road in Knobsville Pa, (7 miles North of McConnellsburg). Come enjoy a couple hours learning about the corn varieties in the plot. These varieties grew under the same conditions. The varieties represented in the plot: Debab, TA Seeds, Doeblers, Kings, Dyna Gro and Hubner. Del Voight form Penn State University and H. Grant Troop Penn State Extension will be on hand to discuss different aspects of growing corn in Pennsylvania. Pesticide Credits will be awarded to those in attendance. Sports Museum Open Fulton County All-Sports Museum and the Mc- Connellsburg Alumni Museum will be open Friday, October 17, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday after parade until 6 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museums are located in the Lions Community Building (old MHS). Please donate items and come and see all the new items. The museums will be open Saturday afternoon, November 22, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. before and after bingo.

HAVFCO Food Auction Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. wll hold a food auction on Friday, October 10, beeginning at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. Frozen foods, snacks and miscellaneous items will be offered for sale.

Angel Food Ministry Sign-up for Angel Food Ministry will be at Fulton County Catholic Mission on Thursday, October 9, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and on Saturday, October 11, at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Anyone needing a menu or more information may call 485- 5917.

Raffle The Fulton County Historical Society will raffle a two-night stay in the tenant house at Shady Spring Farm on Union Church Road. Tickets are $4 each for the $250 furnished family retreat and will be drawn at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, at the Fulton House. Tickets are available now at Morton's Attic, Summer Thyme Floral, Sheep Ridge Farm and the treasurer's office at the courthouse and may also be purchased at the Fulton House during festival hours. All proceeds benefit the Historical Society.
