Elke H. Anders Black, 67, Chambersburg, died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at her home.

She was born February 15, 1941, in Geissen, Germany.

She was most recently employed at K-Mart in Chambersburg.

She was a member of The Open Door Church, where she sang in the church choir for many years and was a member of the quilting circle.

She is survived by her husband, William E. Black, whom she married July 9, 1962; a daughter, Carolyn L. Crowder, McConnellsburg; a son, William H. Black, Camp Hill; a sister, Ute Urnau, Germany; a brother, Herman Anders, Germany; a granddaughter; and a step-granddaughter.

Services will be Thursday, October 2, at 10:30 a.m., at The Open Door Church, Chambersburg. Revs. Arthur Brown and Carl McKee will officiate. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, and one hour before the srvice at the church.
