2008-10-02 / Correspondents' Notes

By Kate Berkstresser

This fall weather is just gorgeous, but, of course, your correspondent is confined to Fulton County Medical Center. Hope to be home by the time this goes to press.

Hope the community pig roast at Forbes Road Lions Park was well attended on Saturday night.

We just take the benefits we have available in Fulton County for granted. We can be thankful we have Fulton County Medical Center. We just know they are here, but I can say very good things about their services and doctors' care. They are to be commended. We are fortunate.

These folks who visited Kate Berkstresser at the center on Sunday were Edgar nd Gladys Lake, Mae Mann, Pat Berkstresser, Dee and Kathrine Berkstresser.

We hear the Democrat fall dinner was well attended on Saturday night at Needmore Firehall.

Sorry to hear Alice Walker is a patient at Chambersburg Hospital. We send get well wishes her way.

Household hint: To help your jack-o-lantern live to see October 31, rub a little vaseline over the carved edges and along the inside to prevent drying out.
