Wilma C. Grove Mitchell
Wilma Catherine Grove Mitchell, 84, formerly of Hancock, and a resident of Loyalton of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, September 21, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born December 10, 1923, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lottie Grove and the widow of Wilbur A. Mitchell, who died July 27, 2008, and whom she married September 16, 1942.
She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family business, Buss's Sinclair Service Station in Hancock.
Surviving are a son, Stanley Mitchell Sr., and wife Carole, Hancock; a daughter, Shirley Funk, and husband Ralph, Hancock; two grandsons: Stanley Mitchell Jr., Warfordsburg, and David Mitchell, Hancock; three great-grandchildren: Anastasia Andrews, Berkeley Springs, and Devon and Jenna Mitchell, Hancock; two great-greatgranddaughters: Jadiallyn and Na- talie Andrews of Berkeley Springs.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Melvin, Ray, John and Charles Grove; and two infant brothers: Ernest and Herbert.
Services were held Wednesday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m., at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Rev. John D. Cozzoli officiated. Burial was made in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
