Bowling Pin Shoot A bowling pin shoot will be held September 27 at Fulton County Rifle & Pistol Club. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. Handguns only - automatics, revolvers and single actions. Bring own ammo and a holster. Eye and ear protection required. There will be cash prizes and trophies awarded. The kitchen will be open.

CROPTOBERFEST/Fundraiser 2008 A "Croptoberfest/fundraiser" will be held Saturday, September 27, in the Needmore/Warfordsburg area, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for time for finishing album projects. All proceeds from product sales will be donated to a fund for Herbie Koontz in support of medical expenses for a possible lung transplant. Christmas Baseball Tournament/Clinic The Satchel Paige All-Stars traveling baseball team is accepting registration for players ages 13 to 18 who would like to participate in the team's Christmas baseball clinic and tournament in Bradenton, Fla., and/or be part of the 2009 summer travel team. Harvest Farm Festival The fifth annual Harvest Farm Festival will be held at Stoner's Dairy Farm in Mercersburg, Saturday, October 4. In addition to a 5-acre pirate-themed corn maze, the festival will offer pig racing shows, hay rides, pony rides, alpacas, chain saw sculpting, Phantom Shadow inflatable attractions, a petting zoo, children's magic show, pumpkin patch, scarecrow factory, arena contests, self-guided farm tours, games, delicious food and more. Festival hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, ages 3 and older. Parking is free. Proceeds benefit various local organizations. Raindate is Saturday, October 11. Pike-To-Bike Ride An eight-mile bicycle ride along a portion of the old Pennsylvania Turnpike will be held by the Fulton County Parks and Recreation Commission on Sunday, October 5, at 2 p.m. Riders should meet at the large parking area on the Oregon Road in Wells Township to enjoy the county's fall foliage and the ride through the Rays Hill Tunnel. Dinner/Auction A benefit dinner and auction will be held at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene dining hall, Harrisonville, September 27, for Herbert Koontz to help with medical expenses. The dinner will include roast pork or turkey, baked macaroni and cheese, applesauce, roll and butter with a dessert table on the side. Dinner will start at 4:00 p.m. with an auction to follow at 6:00 p.m. Auction items were donated by various individuals. We have a few quilts, wall hanging, afghan and baked goods. Ice Cream Social, Open House, Parade Needmore Fire Co. will hold its annual fireman's parade on Saturday, October 11, in conjunction with open house for the new facility. Parade lineup will begin at 2:00 p.m., with the parade at 4:00 p.m. and prizes at 6:00 p.m. The parade will begin on Route 655 south, Thompson Road, and will end at the Needmore Firehall where there will be food, games, homemade ice cream and music by "Night Drive." Tractor Show The Middlecreek Valley Antique Association will hold its 13th annual fall antique tractor show on September 26-28, west of Selinsgrove. The show has tractors, engines, machinery, working sawmill, garden tractor pulls, farm tractor pulls and street legal pickup truck pulls, demonstrations, flea market, crafts, plenty of food and drinks and free entertainment Friday and Saturday evenings.
