In last week’s edition of the “News” regarding the Wollet graveyard cleanup, Ken Keebaugh inaccurately described the location of the graveyard. The location should have been listed as 1.5 miles south of Ft. Littleton along the Forbes Road Trail road and .5 mile north of Rte 475. In addition, the article should have mentioned the Wilds family, who were also buried on site.

Results from the 2011 National Assessment of Educational Progress were released Thursday. The study also shows the state's science scores have dropped slightly from two years ago.

Virus-carrying Mosquito Found Earlier Than Usual

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – A mosquito carrying the West Nile virus has been detected earlier than usual in Pennsylvania this year, officials said Thursday.

The mosquito found May 3 in Exeter Township, Berks County, was the earliest detected since state testing began in 2000, according to the state departments of Environmental Protection and Health.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) – A man has been charged with stabbing his mother to death in the living room of the Allentown home they shared two days before Mother's Day.

Rafael Tirado, 38, was charged with criminal homicide in the death of 64-yearold Gloria Santiago on Friday, The (Allentown) Morning Call said.
