Seniors at the Warfordsburg Senior Center sat down with county officials and the head of the Area Agency on Aging last week to publicly air their wants, needs and concerns as they pertain to older citizens. Those comments will be included as part of the agency’s four-year plan mandated by both federal and state law to serve as a “blue print” for future aging services.

A Brush Creek Township man will be required to undergo lifetime registration through Megan’s Law and be designated a sexually violent predator as part of a state prison sentence handed down for the assault of a young girl more than 11 years ago.

Fight To Keep Jury Commissioner’s Seat

The legal battle being waged in Commonwealth Court to reverse the empowerment of county commissioners to abolish the elected office of jury commissioner will continue in Pittsburgh during the week of April 16. Full legal arguments will be heard at that time. A date for the start of the proceedings in April has not yet been determined.
